Shadowlands Brownies

Information

A very small but fierce race of people. They are 4-6 inches in height, dress in the skins of small animals (mice, rats, voles, moles, snakes, lizards) and often wear cloaks of fur or the feathers of small birds. They also wear face and body paint, tattoos, adorn themselves with claws, fangs, shells, and other natural jewelry. The excell as archers, with primitive weapons, at rope artistry, as spear and pikemen, at making traps and snairs, and at the building of machines of war (though small), such as slings, catapults, seige towers, etc., and are excellent climbers. They are very territorial and live in large tribes which can exceed the thousands, either underground, in tree houses, or in the hollows of dead trees. Brownies despise the 'lumbering race' (humans) unless a human manages to earn their respect, and fear demons, large snakes, dragons, and most monsters and predators, which they avoid at all cost. Some brownies mate with one Siowyn (wife) for life, while others have harems. Brownies are reknowned for capturing Sidhe (faeries) and breeding with them to produce magic weilding, quasi-immortal offspring, called Sidhe Sioga (faery brownies). Browines are otherwise mortal, and have a life span of 500-800 years. They age slowly. Faery Brownies are ageless once matured, but prone to fatal wounds. Many brownies are especially fond of Talismans, magic and otherwise.
