Information
These people tend to be stocky in their build, although some are slenderer, and range between 5'4 - 5'8 (females) and 5'6-5'11 in height. The Lahghantur (or men of the mountains) are very fair skinned, while the Lahghanuin (men of the sea) have light brown or tan skin. Their hair is red or auburn, their eyes green or blue, they are often freckled, and their ears are long and tapered. They dress in fine clothing made of strong, durable silk or linen, that are woven with intermingling colors. The mountain people wear green, brown, gold, ocra and amber colors, while the sea farers wear dark blue, light blue, gray, white, and green. Females wear practicle dresses, while the men wear tunics, breeches, and coats that are equally comfortable and rugged. Sidhevaughn have tight family bonds, and are a proud race of people. Women have a fairly strict place in society. They advise their husbands and children, (often manipulate their mates) do the sewing, cooking, cleaning, care for farmyard animals, and gardening. Despite their domestic lifestyle, the women are fiesty, and often put their men in their place when they step out of line. It could be said of some husbands, that they fear their wives. The men meanwhile spend a great deal of time drinking with their comrades, gambling, playing combat games, teaching their sons the finer points of wooing women (though their mothers could give them better advice) and they excell at protecting their families and people. The men are always eager and fit for a fight. Their main occupations include theft (particularly of booze and gold) mining (minerals and gems), gold and silver smithing, weapon and armor smithing, jewelry craft, horse breeding and training, cattle herding, and swindling. They also have a treasurer, treasurey guard, and royal guards. Every leprechaun territory has a king and queen, who lead, guide and reign over their people, although those they reign over live in small, scattered, family groups within that territory. Sidhevaughn families are known to 'squat' in abandoned homes, or build their homes of natural materials such as stone, bark, reeds, and the branches of trees. The royals have great palaces beneath mountains, and in sea-side cliffs, and only indulge in drink and excess during festivals, which occur six times a year. Men and women alike also frequently engage in the skill of story telling. Leprechauns are often very adept at the art of blarney, and can be very deceptive, while they never bullshit each other unless it is strictly in good fun. They also love to tell riddles, sing, and are notorius for stealing booze from pantries, cellars and homes. Sidhevaughn men tend to be very promiscuous until they marry, and even after that they flirt with the ladies (only nothing ever comes of it unless they dare brave their wife's wrath). These people are a merry, gregarious, fun, pleasure loving, and resilient race. Though they do grieve losses and hardships, they bounce back quickly. Suicides are unknown among this strong willed and emotionally sound, although somewhat crazy, race of people. There are very few magic weilders among the Sidhevaughn, and never more than four in a territory. Their mages are called Tarats, and they are enchanters, and lore masters. They also have Bards. Leprechauns who do not reside under a domain, are solitary faeries who either live alone, or in small family groups that are isolated from others of their kind. They are quasi-immortal but do age, very slowly, and they die when ready to pass over into the lands of Anwynn, or to give up their spirits to the forests or seas of Anwynn's Underworld.
