Information

Namas (nah-mahs) are an ageless people of Morashtar, which is exactly what the name Namas means; ageless people. These people are quasi immortal, and look like humans in every respect. Their cultures are diverse. Namas can only produce offspring out of other Namas. There are six Namas races, mid-toned caucasian, fair caucasian, dark skin, light brown, russet brown (medium brown) skin, and a light, golden brown skin in color, each with their own physical traits and cultures. These people do interbreed, although many people of pure heritage exist. See the Namas nationalities below for more detailed information.

Bhassir (desert dwelling) Namas

Information: They are medium brown skinned, live in settlements near desert ocean shores, and rely on fish, seafood, kelp, purple moss, and cultivation for provender. They have black, or dark brown hair and pale brown, jade green, or blue-green eyes. These people speak Esurian, and very few speak English, or other languages of earth. Their leaders are called Morgai (one who governs), and they are elected once every ten years. The residing Morgai can be re-elected an unlimited number of terms. Each Trievas (or settlement) choses their leader every ten years, period. These people are not often tall in stature, and average 5'10 in height-males, and 5'4-females. These people respect women as equals to men, and both male and females lead their settlements.

Classes: Warrior, Merchant, Mariner, Shaman, Mage

Cuvas (inventive) Namas

Information: These people are light brown skinned in color, with no facial hair, black or brunette hair, and dark brown eyes. They are a fairly tall race. They reside in citadels they build out of stone in grasslands, near seashores, in deserts, mountains, and even jungles. These are the people who built Hawker's Fort ages ago, and many of them still reside there. Their mages often specialize in earth elements, and it is with that power they assist in raising the stone cities they inhabit. They have a Patriarchal society with an Eir Provas (high king), and each king elects a steward in case a king fails to produce an heir. Kings remain on the throne until they are either dethroned by a popular vote from the people of his domain, or until they die. If a King refuses to give up his title if dethroned, he must stage an election, and if he triumphs, he remains king. Queens never rule as Matriarchs in Cuvas Namas domains. Within their territories are also Eir Domas, which are High Regents, or Kings which rule their own territories within the domain of the Eir Provus. Regents are selected by the Eir Provus and his council of Castelarn Knights, and their power remains within their family until they lose their territory to usurpers or war. The stewardship also stays within one family, unless the Eir Provus and his council elect a new steward. These people disprove strongly of women being warriors, or assuming trades they consider strictly a man's occupation. Women are treated very well, but they are expected to accept their place in society. They worship the earth gods and goddesses; Taldia (earth father), and Ithban (earth mother), the father and mother, and the sons; Anlas (god of the sun, light and fire), Angean (god of the waters), and Anwyn (god of the netherworld) and the daughters; Induin (goddess of the leaves), and Indor (goddess of darkness) and Inthriall (goddess of the cycle). They speak Esurian and English most commonly.

Classes: Warrior, Merchant, Thief, Mariner, Assassin, Rogue, Bard, Priest, Mage

Fionar (fair skinned) Namas

Information: These people have light brown, blonde, flaxen, strawberry blonde, or silver hair. Their eyes are blue, green, hazel, or gray. They have exactly the same customs, religion, and culture as the Cuvas, only Fionar have a tendency towards wanderlust, and a great love, if not obsession for the sea, which is as deeply ingrained in them as their fair skin. They are adventureous at heart, and simply not the 'stay at home and protect what is yours' people that the Cuvas are. Even their kings are known to take to sea. Many simply live between a Cuvas city, and a Fionar city, while they are either exploring a continent, or the great tempest ocean and many seas of Morashtar. They sometimes travel alone, in groups, or with family. Not all rove however, and those who do not, do provide for, and keep their kingdoms, homes, and people safe from would be aggressors. Very often, those Fionar who are adventure-struck, come in very handy for their leaders and darker skinned cousins as warriors, seamen, scouts, and other such occupations, which may even include assassins or spies.

Classes: Warrior, Merchant, Thief, Mariner, Assassin, Rogue, Pirate, Ranger, Bard, Priest, Mage

Cathaer (city dwelling) Namas

These people share a similair society and culture as the Cuvas Namas, only their's is a Monarchal society, which allows queens to come into power. They respect men and women as equals. This sets them apart enough that their cultures do not blend well with the Cuvas, unless Cathaer simply reside under the Cuvas Patriarchy and vice versa. These people are mid-toned caucasians with black and auburn, or dark auburn hair, and brown or blue eyes. They have no quarrels whatsoever about women assuming occupations as warriors, weapons smiths, equestrians, what have you. Whatever a female can hold her own doing, their men support. They speak Esurian and English most commonly.

Classes: Warrior, Merchant, Mariner, Thief, Assassin, Rogue, Bard, Priest, Mage

Vaegoa (those who wander) Namas

Information: These people are dark brown skinned, have wirey auburn or black hair, brown eyes, and tend to be tall. They are nomadic, live off the land, and have clans which move from place to place so as not to stress the natural balance of an area. The clans marry from other clans, which often meet up in their travels. They often have celebrations based on these meetings, which they call Casdaeos (meeting of the people). They are very intuned with nature, and their religion is founded on the earth and animal spirits which they pay homage to. Vaegoa have Rigen (chieftains) and Baris (queens) as leaders, but unless the chieftain has no son as an heir, the Baris does not inherit the throne, it goes to the eldest son. Rigens remain the leader of the clan until their eldest son is ready to inherit the throne, or they die. They speak Esurian and English most commonly, but pick up many languages in their travels, and are often linguists. Each clan always has Fileas (bards), Saegar (shaman), and Ovaer (mages) among them.

Classes: Warrior, Merchant, Thief, Assassin, Rogue, Bard, Shaman, Mage

Inisai (island dwelling) Namas

Information: Inisai originated on the Ishi Taipang Island chain and as their ability as mariners improved they spread out to other Islands and small continents in the tropics and sub-tropics. Early in their development as Namas they picked up the Trecouru language from the Trecouri who came to live on Ishi Taipang and adopted Trecouru as their native language. Inisai who live on the Taipang island chain are under Trecouri rule. Inisai have light brown skin with a gold tone. Their hair is jet black and straight, and their eyes are brown, jade green, or dark blue. They often grow their hair long and take exceptional care of it along with their bodies. Their eyes are large and almond shaped. They have a polygamist society, and men can marry as many women as they can support. Women cannot marry more than one man, but they can have as many mates as they wish, as long as they are not married, and can support their mates. These intimate male companions are called Aezuro, and their mistresses are called Luaen. Luaen women are considered off limits to any Inisai man who seeks a wife. This lifestyle is completely normal to the men and women alike. Inisai excell in mental and physical disciplines, and those who practice it, are skilled martial artists.

    They have four martial groups;
1-Rogada: (Samurai-like) which act as royal guards and are masters of their martial sabers. They dedicate their lives to honor and protecting the Impiro which they serve.
2-Ruvaer: (Ninja-like) rely on stealth, form underground organizations which often work against an Impiro (emperor), another group, or individual, and perfect the art of assassination. They abide by strict codes of honor as well, within their own faction, and are very commited to their causes. The believe that it is their duty to cleanse the world of all enemies of true honor.
3-Vaerai: (mercenaries) kill, spy, and do other dangerous jobs for a price.
4-Cotroa: (warrior thieves and pirates) are rogues who form guilds, rely on stealth, reflexes, quickness, focus, their wits, and combat skill. There is honor among thieves where the Cotroa are concerned. They never betray those within their own guild. They just cannot be trusted by anyone outside of their group. They often take to piracy as well, particularly those who are able seamen.

Inisai have island empires ruled by a leader called an Impiro. The islands conquered by an empire, big or small, is the empire of this leader. His warriors are called Fioran, and his knights are called Marcaval. Because Impiros have such large families, they almost always have an heir, the eldest son of the Impiro his successor when he dies. Impiros keep the throne until they die, or until their empire is usurped. When an empire is taken by force by another Inisai empire, all of the Impiro's offspring are usually killed. Many Inisai are very sea worthy, and it is rare for a male never to have gone to sea. The homes and palaces of their cities and villages are almost always built of a giant bamboo called Inderas, which is beautiful when seasoned and properly finished. It is ocra and green with indigo blue streaks, and is very strong. Inisai also make furniture from Inderas, and it is sold around the world. It can also be steamed by those who know their craft, and bent into beautiful arches and shapes, and with a great deal of patience and time, can be woven into elaborately patterned walls. Crafting Inderas requires a lot of skill and special knowledge of that bamboo. To insure that the bamboo is not exhausted, Inisai mages who are skilled in the art of terra-forming, often replenish the Inderas groves with new growth that is often quickened. Inderas grows rapidly regardless, and can attain a diameter of 1 foot in 3 years time. It can grow as large as three feet in diameter max, if left alone for 15 years. Growth slows dramatically when Inderas is 6 years old. It dies off when it is 50 years old.
