Specialized Magic: Black Redwood Elves can learn only 1 path, with a specialization bonus of +3 d6 and +2 HB, as well as being able to apply their spells at double the power. They also get +7 free magic skills.

Fanatic Society: These elves are fanatical about keeping to their own kind and territory
Distrustful: Of all strangers and any trespassers in their territory.
Unforgiving: Of serious crimes and dishonorable deeds. They have severe penalties for crime and dishonor.
Spite: These elves hold serious grudges.

Information
Redwood Elves are quasi-immortal. They live only in the Evergreen, or Tropical Rain Forests their race was born out of, although some of them have what their proud race calls a 'curse of wanderlust' and travel outside of their great forest home. Those who do leave their territory are often banished from ever returning, unless the Chieftain of their clan grants their consent for them to leave. If a banished elf returns they may either be imprisoned or put to death. They do not like outsiders entering their territory, and they have warden archers which guard and watch over their domain. Some say of these elves that they are 'the elves whom are not like elves at all.' They do enjoy festivals and celebrations however and have many occasions on their lunar calander to engage in festivities. They take pride in the wine, ales and liquors they produce; as they should, for they are among the finest.
Their magic is specialized, but what they do learn they perfect. Their warriors are very fierce and able. The silver haired branch is immune to magic, which does not include Elemental, unless it is direct. The elves with black hair have an innate knack for the arcane, and are called Shamans, while those with silver hair cannot use magic.
Among their own they call the ebony haired elves, Black Elves, and the silver haired elves, Silver Elves. This race speaks their own language, which they call the Secret Language. They also learn more commonly spoken languages, like Esurian and Cenys; some even learn English. They never speak their own language to anyone not of their race.
These elves live inside of immense trees, carving out the hearts inside of dying or standing dead trees, with underground tunnels which lead to the first floor of their tree hollow homes. They always leave two feet of wood for the walls. Some carve shuttered windows, and others do not. Their shamans strengthen the trees, and their roots so they do not topple, and protect them from rotting with their power, which are laid into runes carved into the trees.
Appearance
5'5 to 5'11 feet tall, with slender or hard sinewy build. They appear anywhere from 18 to 45 years of age. Both the Silver Elves and the Black Elves have medium or light red-brown skin. Both have large, almond eyes which vary in shades of green. The Black Elves have Jet black hair and the silver elves have silver hair. These elves are very attractive, male or female. When they come of age they receive tribal tatoos, which can be very elaborate, that identify their clans.
