Information
The pale, yellow-green grub of this very common green beetle has potent restorative chemicals in its flesh if eaten, and has a delicately sweet nutty flavor that imakes it quite palitable when one can get past eating an insect. The flesh restores stamina and heals (+5 stamina, +5 HP per grub), and if they are mashed and placed on wounds, this poultice regenerates the flesh very swiftly (+15 d6-HP per half hour poultice is applied). The poultice can be preserved for several years if kept stored in clay or glass jars in cool, dry places. The adult male beetle is emerald green with darker green heads, legs and undersides. The female beetles are a yellower green in color. Lifespan of up to 3 years.
Location
These beetles are very common and can be found anywhere in warm climates, but never where winters are longer than 4 months. The grubs can be found in moist soil beneath rocks, rotting trees, or roots. In deserts, the grubs are found in the roots of plants, or burrowed inside of cacti where the adult beetles lay their eggs.
