True Form
Seldom ever seen in their true form Shapeshifters have the misfortune of sowing distrust and being persecuted by merely being what they are.
"He lived a thousand lives and ten thousand horrors. Now he is content to guard my bridge and enjoy the simplest things. He is the exception. He is rarely seen as anything but his true self, as far as anyone knows." -- Spoke Killian with a smile.
Information
Shapeshifter's have a true form which has the appearance of a beast-kin goat, with human-like clawed hands, cloven hooves, goat ears, humanistic goatish faces (goat-like nose and lips), facial hair and goatees (males), body hair, and flared goat horns. They are 5'9-6'6 in height, females smaller by 4-5 inches. Females have breasts while males are built like muscular, humanoid males with exception of their goat-like aspects. These shapeshifters can assume any form which they can adapt themselves to by familiarity, ie taking the visual appearance, voice, scent, knowledge of, and presence of another creature into their memory. When they shift forms, they take on the physical aspects, inborn abilities, and limited arcane powers (up to any 5 spells in each path) of whatever form they take (at their own level). Wisdom determines the prowess (level) of these creatures, for it is with knowledge that they become great in their abilities. While their true form ages and is mortal, they can preserve themselves by taking the form of ageless, or younger creatures. Their true form does not age while they assume the form of another creature, and they become immortal, or quasi immortal if they shapeshift into an immortal or quasi-immortal form. They have "Age Lived in True Form", advantage. There is no limit to how many forms they can learn (at 1 form per level of wisdom) for they can gain wisdom through the forms they take, although the most wisdom (the highest level) they can apply to their forms is limited (at max level of 30), while their is no roof to how much wisdom they can attain. In true form, they have exceptional hearing and sense of smell (+6 each), and are rather strong (+4) and quick (+5). Shapeshifters are seldom trusted because they are so capable of deceiving others, and yet how deceptive they are depends on the individual. Some shapeshifters use their forms to deceive, to improve their chances as thieves, spies, or assassins, while others use their forms a defense, or to gain the advantage of a form for various reasons. In order for them to assume the form of another being, they must consume the soul of living creature to gain their form.
